Step Two: Account for efficiency and power factor
Apply the unit conversion or electrical factor needed for the final result.
kVA = watts ÷ (efficiency × power factor)
Using the same example:
3,730 ÷ (0.90 × 0.80 × 1,000) = 5.181 kVA
